Anchorage Airport Shuttle Services

Once you get to the Anchorage Airport, how will you get to where you are going?

If you don't rent a car or have a friend to pick you up at the Anchorage Airport, one of the many shuttle and taxi services are great ways to get to your destination once you arrive.

In my part-time job with Alaskan Splendor Limousine, I have become very familiar withall the many options.

To get any sort of transportation from the airport, exit on the airport terminal on the baggage claim level and go to the second curb out. The second curb is only for commercial vehicles.

2007 Travel Alert:  Due to long-term renovations at The Anchorage International Airport, Continental Airlines has moved their operations from Anchorage's south terminal to the north terminal.   The north terminal has only one baggage claim, vs. eight or nine at the south terminal.  This is causing longer wait times for baggage.  Delta Airlines also uses this terminal and only adds to the baggage delays. This terminal also serves China Air and all other International Flights!

Anchorage Airport Taxicabs

The arrivals curb at the Anchorage Airport is shaped like a half circle. In the middle of this half-circle, is where the taxiwaiting area is.

The two major cab companies that are always available are:

Alaska/ Yellow Cab

Checker Cab

The Eagle River Shuttle is another great way to get to destinations within Anchorage and the Eagle River Alaska area. Eagle River is about 20 minutes north of Anchorage.

A guy that I know by the name of John runs this service. He runs a nice service and is very reliable. He is a good friend of Alaskan Splendor and has helped us cover jobs when we have been over-extended.

You can reach John of Eagle River Shuttle at 694-8888. Call himahead of your arrival so he can schedule you in.

Transportation Outside of Anchorage

If your Alaskan destination is outside of Anchorage, then you'll want to consider using Alaskan Splendor's Shuttle Service.

Some of their most common destinations are:

  • Alyeska Resort in Girdwood Alaska
  • $85 one way
  • Palmer, Alaska
  • $65 for up to two people
  • Wasilla, Alaska
  • $65 for up to two people
  • Willow, Alaska
  • Contact for price
  • Whittier, Alaska
  • Contact for price

The $65 price to Palmer/Wasilla is a shared rate. What this means is that if there are others who need to get to the Palmer Wasilla area (Alaskans refer to it as The Valley) then you may be combined with a few additional people.

Alaskan Splendor (Alaskan Travel Services) often uses Lincoln L Series Town Cars for this trip, but also may use Ford Excursions (seats 7) or a Chrysler 300.

If you would like a vehicle all to yourself, that is also available at the dedicated rate starting at $75 per hour for the vehicles listed above. The "Valley" is one hour north of Anchorage.

If you wish to be picked up in a limousine, that can be arranged for not too much more. Please contact Alaskan Splendor for pricing.
