Winter in Alaska is Beautiful, Fun and yes ... a bit Cold!
Winter in Alaska, although less popular, is also a great time to vacation in Alaska.
Winter activities abound... from snow machining (snow mobiling) to snowboarding to enjoying
a hot fire at a snow-bound Alaskan lodge.
The activities don't stop, in winter, for Alaskans. There are ice sculpture competitions
and winter festivals...such as Fur Rondy!
The average winter temperature, in Anchorage Alaska, is approximately 17 degrees Fahrenheit(-26 C).
Alaska in Winter Video
Here is a video that I shot, just outside our front door. My son Kyle is throwing a boiling
water, from a cup, into the air. The water will completely freeze before it hits the ground
The temperature, at the time, was -22 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 C)
